Materi kuliah Pattern Recognition & Machine Learning untuk Bachelor

Saya sedang mengupdate materi kuliah Pattern Recognition (untuk mahasiswa Bachelor semester 4-7). Di beberapa kampus, kadang materi ini saya pecah : bagian awal diberikan pada Subject Artificial Intelligence sedangkan selebihnya pada Subject Pattern Recognition/Machine Learning. Tujuannya : (1) mahasiswa memahami materi dasar Pattern Recognition (2) mampu mengimplementasikannya memakai bahasa pemrograman C, Java, Python, atau yang lain (3) mengetahui trend penelitian di bidang pattern recognition (mengkritisi materi pada jurnal/penelitian). Substansi :

  • Pendahuluan : Apakah Pattern Recognition (PR) itu ? Apakah Machine Learning (ML) itu ? Contoh-contoh aplikasi pattern recognition & machine learning.
  • Preprocessing : normalisasi nilai fitur, pendekatan one-of-c coding untuk data nominal, bagaimana menyelesaikan missing-data, disamping ekstraksi fitur (Principal Component Analysis) dan seleksi fitur (Pendekatan Wrapper vs Pendekatan Filter)
  • Metode supervised : k-Nearest Neighbor Classifier, Naive Bayes, Decision Tree, Multilayer Perceptron + Backpropagation Algorithm, Learning Vector Quantizion (LVQ-1, LVQ-2, LVQ-3), Support Vector Machine, Deep Learning
  • Metode Unsupervised : Hierarchical Clustering, Partitional Clustering, misalnya k-Means Clustering, Self-Organizing Maps
  • Evaluasi kinerja : Hold-out Method, Cross Validation, Precision, Recall, Kurva Receiver Operating Characteristics dsb.
  • Application of Pattern Recognition : handwriting character recognition, membahas aplikasi biometrik pada anak-anak (usia dimana pattern sidik jari belum stabil), pengaruh ageing (penuaan) pada face recognition, biomedical diagnosis
  • Trend Penelitian Pattern Recognition/Machine Learning (membaca dan mengkritisi paper2 di IEEE Trans. Pattern Analysis & Machine Intelligence, Pattern Recognition, Pattern Recognition Letters, JMLR, dsb)

Tentang Anto Satriyo Nugroho

My name is Anto Satriyo Nugroho. I am working as research scientist at Center for Information & Communication Technology, Agency for the Assessment & Application of Technology (PTIK-BPPT : Pusat Teknologi Informasi & Komunikasi, Badan Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi). I obtained my doctoral degree (Dr.Eng) from Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan in 2003. My office is located in Serpong, Tangerang Selatan City.
